Valentina Wasson’s own account of the magic mushroom experience was published in This Week magazine on May 19, 1957; just six days after her husband’s famous piece was published in Life Magazine. In this article, Valentina suggested that magic mushrooms might be used as a psychotherapeutic agent. At that point she became one of the first to theorize on magic mushrooms and their possible uses in the field on psychotherapy.
