Amanita muscaria mushrooms

Overwhelming nausea and often violent vomiting usually follow the oral intake of Amanita muscaria by even practiced of natural psychedelics such as magic mushrooms. These physical effects greatly affect the prospective use of Amanita muscaria and Amanita pantherina for their psychoactive properties.

In 2006, the US government funded a randomized and double-blinded study by Johns Hopkins University. The study involved 36 college-educated adults who had never tried psilocybin nor had a history of drug use, and had spiritual interests. The participants were closely observed for eight-hour intervals while under the influence of magic mushrooms. One-third of the participants reported the experience was the single most religiously significant experience of their lifetimes. Two months after the study, 79 percent of the participants reported increased wellbeing in their lives.
