Nick Herbert (Physicist-Author): American physicist, best known for his book “Quantum Reality”.After receiving his Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University, Herbert took on several posts, in both the academia and industry, the most illustrious of which was senior physicist at Memorex Corp., where developed new magnetic materials, as well as magnetic, electrostatic and optical measuring devices, plus theoretical work on Lorenz microscopy. He was also senior physicist at SCM where he deveoped a new theory of xerographic process.He also held faculty position at Monmouth, Illinois, where he was assistant professor of physics at Monmouth College.Here, Nick Herbert discusses psychedelics and consciousness in an interview with Andrew Rutajit.
In the United States, ownership of Psilocybe mushrooms is illegal because they contain the Schedule I drugs psilocin and psilocybin. Spores, however, are only explicitly illegal in the states of California, Idaho, and Georgia. However, in California, mushroom spores are legal to own if they are not intended for use in cultivation and if they are not imported from outside California.
In the mid 1800’s the Prince of Flowers statue which had depictions of magic mushrooms carved all over it was discovered by Europeans in the central part of Mexico.
