The Magic Mushrooms – It
The magic mushroom species Psilocybe semilanceata gets its nickname from an actual, historically accurate cap. The Phrygian cap is what the magic mushroom is said to look like. In the 18th century Phrygian caps were stuck on Liberty poles, which resemble the stem of the mushroom. The mushroom’s nickname is “the liberty cap” because of this story.
A total absence of any type of psychoactive effect is possible, even when taking magic mushrooms in large doses. This depends on the specific type and to a much lesser degree the variety of the particular magic mushrooms, substrate they grew from, the conditions of growth and the general quality of the harvested batch.
