Amanita amerimuscaria/Amanita var. guessowii-is the American version of the Amanita muscaria var. formosa found elsewhere in the world. I often find them in close proximity to pine trees from the end of September until the first week into November. Amanita amerimuscaria contains muscarine and should not be considered for the table, although it is consumed by some (after being cooked and then dried) to achieve euphoric effects. Spore print is white.
